LOG: Something He Might Regret

What: Delta calls the number, Gets some coffee

He's been playing with the piece of paper for three days now. Ever since it went into his pocket, Delta has been fiddling with the number. He tells himself it's because of the offer of good coffee. Tells himself it's because the week has been a strained one at home. Tells himself a lot of things. But come Wednesday when he finds he's got a few hours that could charitably be called free before he has to go grocery shopping, Delta gets the comm number out and calls. Waits through the prompt and then leaves his message.

"Hey. It's Delta. We met on Sunday at Smithson's Helmet Shop? Anyway, you gave me your number and offered to buy me real coffee if I had some free time. And I could sure go for a cup right about now. So... Call me if you can find the time in the next few hours and I'll meet you there?"

Delta smiles thankfully as he stands. "Thank you for this, York. I believe... I may in fact do that at some point. But I warn you against getting your hopes up. I'm quite busy."

Any time he spent not doing house work or school work on his job was time spent taking food out of his family's mouth. Not the greatest bit, but he could have made money this hour. Can he really excuse not doing so?

York returns the smile, also standing to leave and collecting his helmet from under his chair.

'You're very welcome. Whenever you want, I'm usually pretty flexible, so be it tomorrow, next week or next month, I'll see if I'm around.'

[protective_logic]

"If I was my brother, I'd make a joke about the flexibility," Delta chuckles, shaking his head as he gets his helmet on.

He laughs. 'Sigma again? Sounds like quite a character.' He fits his own helmet over his head, feeling it seal around his neck as he leads the way back over to the door with a wave to the counter.

"You're a bit like him," Delta notes. Perhaps York should meet Sigma. They would no doubt like each others' ideas of jokes.

'I'll take that as a compliment,' he chuckles, activating the airlock and holding the door open for Delta.

"Quite a gentleman," Delta chuckles, heading through.

[depthlesslock]

York grins, letting the door shut behind them so the air can cycle. Thief he may be, but let it not be said that he isn't courteous.

"Thank you for the coffee," Delta offers as he wait for the outer door. "I realized I hadn't said it."

'My pleasure,' he says, smiling even though their faces are covered now.

[protective_logic]

The outer door opens and Delta waves before turning toward the store. Maybe he will meet him again.

York waves back, then turns the music on inside his helmet and starts making his way back home. It's been a good afternoon.
