LOG: In Need of Assistance

York would be lying if he said he wasn't surprised that Delta had called him so soon to arrange to meet up again. That's three times in the last two weeks the man has called for company despite his insistence that he's a busy guy. Not that York's complaining, he enjoys Delta's company more each time they see each other, but he is surprised.

He's on time. Well, Delta seems to be making the effort, the least he can do is return the favor. Once he's inside, he removes his helmet and looks around. Common Ground is a good place, he's enjoyed it's coffee and food a fair few times, and of course it has the delicious, rich scent that comes with any good coffee shop.

Spotting Delta, he weaves through the tables towards him and sits down in the chair on the other side of the table, smiling. 'Hey there.'

So of course, York strikes a pose, one hand behind his head, the other on his hip while he grins and winks at Delta.

"I'd applaud but I don't think you succeeded," Delta shrugs, trying to hide his smile.

He pouts and folds his arms in mock hurt. 'How dare you,' he says melodramatically. 'I'm gorgeous.' He flicks long hair he doesn't have and turns his nose up.

"You don't have the hair for that," Delta warns him. "Not that I do anymore either."

[depthlesslock]

He opens his mouth to retort, then pauses. 'Anymore? Was your hair longer?'

[protective_logic]

"A lot," Delta smiles at the question. "Until about a month ago, I'd never cut it since I was a child. It straightens as it gets longer."

[depthlesslock]

'Huh. I can kind of see it. How did you wear it?' He tilts his head, squinting a little as he tries to overlay his mental image with the real one in front of him.

[protective_logic]

"Ponytail," Delta shrugs. It was simpler that way. "And then the twins got gum in it, horribly, and... well..."

[depthlesslock]

'Ah, that sucks.' Yeesh, that must have been tough. 'Planning on growing it out again?'

[protective_logic]

"Yeah, but it will take a long time to get it where I want," Delta sighs.

[depthlesslock]

'That's a shame. Did you know if you cut just like half an inch off every few months, it grows quicker?'

[protective_logic]

"I am not letting my brothers take scissors to my hair, and I cannot afford the barber costs," Delta shrugs the comment off. He'll live with slow thank you very much.

[depthlesslock]

He shrugs. It's Delta's hair, it's up to him. 'Well, you look pretty good like this, and I'm sure once your hair grows out again, you'll look just as amazing.'

[protective_logic]

Delta blushes faintly at that comment. "I looked better with longer hair. I could... show you a picture if you want."

[depthlesslock]

He tilts his head to one side, smiling. 'Sure, if you've got one. I'd love to see it.'

[protective_logic]

Delta wipes his hands off on a paper towel and pulls out his wallet. Next to his ID is a sleeve of photos, and he flips to one of the twins only a few months ago.

"Iota wants to grow his hair like mine was in the future."

'They're cute,' he says, looking curiously at the photo. Those most be the two smaller kids Sigma had had with him at the park.

'And this is you?' It's not really a question, the green eyes, facial features and hair color, regardless of the length, are very clearly Delta. 'You're right. You do suit long hair. Very well, in fact.'

"This is me," Delta agrees. "I prefer long hair more, for myself."

He chuckles and holds his hand out to York for his wallet. "I'm still attractive with short hair, right?"

York takes a moment to admire the long-haired Delta in the photo, unable to help but wonder what running his fingers through those locks would feel like.

'Absolutely,' he says, finally handing the wallet back. 'You're gorgeous.'

His blush deepens. "I... thank you. That is very considerate of you to say."

'Just telling the truth, D,' he says, smiling.

[protective_logic]

Delta keeps blushing and returns his attention to the chopping his veggies.

'Seriously, I'm a horrible liar. You'll know when it happens.' He leans against the counter to watch.

[protective_logic]

"Seriously?" Delta asks. "You've seemed pretty good to me, what with the mercenary work."

[depthlesslock]

'That was... technically not lying, since I am a locksmith. Also that's cover, I know it inside out. Spontaneous lies are my weakness.' He probably shouldn't be confessing all this.
