LOG: In Need of Assistance

York would be lying if he said he wasn't surprised that Delta had called him so soon to arrange to meet up again. That's three times in the last two weeks the man has called for company despite his insistence that he's a busy guy. Not that York's complaining, he enjoys Delta's company more each time they see each other, but he is surprised.

He's on time. Well, Delta seems to be making the effort, the least he can do is return the favor. Once he's inside, he removes his helmet and looks around. Common Ground is a good place, he's enjoyed it's coffee and food a fair few times, and of course it has the delicious, rich scent that comes with any good coffee shop.

Spotting Delta, he weaves through the tables towards him and sits down in the chair on the other side of the table, smiling. 'Hey there.'

"Seriously?" Delta asks. "You've seemed pretty good to me, what with the mercenary work."

'That was... technically not lying, since I am a locksmith. Also that's cover, I know it inside out. Spontaneous lies are my weakness.' He probably shouldn't be confessing all this.

"Oh?" Delta asks, amused by that. He pours some oil into the skillet and starts to heat it.

'Apparently I have really obvious tells.' He shrugs. 'Or else I'm just flat out bad at it.'

[protective_logic]

"Tells?" Delta asks with amusement. Because he wouldn't mind knowing.

[depthlesslock]

York grins. 'If you think I'm just gonna tell you what they are, you're wrong,' he says. 'You can work them out like everyone else. ...Apparently, it's not a hard task.'

[protective_logic]

"Wow, that's sad for you," Delta teases as he throws the meat in to start cooking.

[depthlesslock]

'I guess I'm just an open lock,' he returns, snickering at his own joke.

[protective_logic]

"Locks are not easy for most people to read," Delta counters as he expertly handles the meat he's been given. "In fact, most of us can't read them at all."

[depthlesslock]

York smiles. Exactly.

'Ah well, bad analogy,' he says, rubbing the back of his neck.

[protective_logic]

"Of course it is," Delta laughs. "Normally the word you want is book."

With that he tips the veggies into the skillet to start working on those.

'Yeah, I know. I just thought this was more accurate. And funny.' He's quite happy to stand here and watch Delta work. He won't interfere, he'd rather have a good supper than charred remains.

"You're cute when you're wrong," Delta chuckles, shaking his head. "Alright, get plates."

[depthlesslock]

'Rude,' he complains without malice. He bends down to get the plates out of the cupboard.

[protective_logic]

"In your opinion," Delta shrugs. "I'm a genius."

[depthlesslock]

'A genius can be rude,' he defends as he sets two plates out and digs into a draw for cutlery.

[protective_logic]

"Yes, but do, as a genius, get to define rudeness, can't I?"

With that he gets the sauce out and pours it over the meal to heat.

'I don't think being a genius means you can redefine the English language, or any language, D,' he says, laughing.
