LOG: In Need of Assistance

York would be lying if he said he wasn't surprised that Delta had called him so soon to arrange to meet up again. That's three times in the last two weeks the man has called for company despite his insistence that he's a busy guy. Not that York's complaining, he enjoys Delta's company more each time they see each other, but he is surprised.

He's on time. Well, Delta seems to be making the effort, the least he can do is return the favor. Once he's inside, he removes his helmet and looks around. Common Ground is a good place, he's enjoyed it's coffee and food a fair few times, and of course it has the delicious, rich scent that comes with any good coffee shop.

Spotting Delta, he weaves through the tables towards him and sits down in the chair on the other side of the table, smiling. 'Hey there.'

Delta takes a few more moments to breathe before returning to the bedroom to sit down on the too-large bed. He can't even begin to imagine just how he's going to make use of all that space.

York goes back to the spare room and finds a duffle bag, into which he puts the guns he collected earlier (after ejecting all the magazines). The he slings it over his shoulder and goes around the house collecting the other guns, unloading them and putting them in the bag.

There isn't much to do, Delta decides, but make the room more comfortable. He looks at the lap on the bed and carries it over instead to a small table and chair against one wall. There, a work area. He'll feel far more comfortable if he uses as little of the space here as possible. He can mostly operate out of the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen and be quite happy. And there would be less to tidy when he left.

All weapons collected and safely stowed away, York leaves the duffle out of easy sight near the door the the airlock. Delta will know what's in it, so it wouldn't be a great idea to just leave it lying around in the middle of the floor.

'All clear,' he calls up.

With the okay given, Delta finally sheds his coat and scarf and comes downstairs to meet York. His boyfriend. The man who is helping him through all the troubles he never expected to have, and he smiles.

"Hey. Fancy meeting you here," he teases, even if his heart isn't in it.

'Strange coincidence,' he plays along, but he can hear the hesitation in Delta's voice. There's still a way to go with this whole mess.

"So. I guess... we should talk," Delta sighs, looking to York. Is that really okay? Can they do this?

He nods. Figures this would happen. But he wants to make sure Delta feels stable. 'On the couch?' he offers.

"Couch," Delta agrees, even if it's not the place for serious conversations at home. Maybe that's what makes it perfect for this.

With a nod, York crosses over and sits down at one end of the couch, giving Delta plenty of space to sit as close or as far from him as he wants.

And he opts for a bit of distance, because this is a serious conversation and it has to be had between friends in a seirous matter, not with him cuddled up to a person he is being supported by.

He had a hunch Delta was going to keep the distance, and it's probably the better option right now. 'Alright, where do you want to start?' he asks.

"How I'm going to keep this from my family," Delta sighs. "That's important. They have to know I'm safe without making things terrible, and I have to find a way to be there for them when Omega isn't around. If your friend Maine is going to be teaching Omega, I need to talk to him. To create a schedule that allows me to help take care of my family without interacting with my older brother."

'I can try and find out if there's a training schedule for him, then you could do whatever you need to while he's out for that.' He tilts his head to one side. 'You want to talk to Maine? I can try and sort that out for you, but it would likely mean admitting that I know where you are. Or we could just play it that you're staying elsewhere and we've just been in contact.'

"Maine is your friend, yes?" Because York had implied that earlier. "If that is true, and he actually cares about the well being of Omega, then it is important for him to see Omega trained. Which Omega will not put proper time into if he must care for the little ones alone. Thus the only answer is for Maine and myself to come up with arrangements and have Maine presented them, completed, to Omega."

'Yeah, we're on the same team. He's a good guy, if he's taken Omega under his wing, he will actually care and look out for him.' He listens to the plan carefully, occasionally nodding. 'That might well work,' he says. 'If Maine understands the situation better, he'll probably be willing to help.'

Delta scoffs at that. From his experience Maine was less than reasonable about Omega. "It will not be easy, but it is the best way to approach this."

Sounds like Delta's had some less than pleasant conversations with Maine already. He might have to ask about that, he won't have his teammates upsetting his boyfriend. 'I'll get on that once I go back to base,' he says. 'Do you want me to let on that I know where you are or act as if you've just been talking to me about the difficulties at the moment?'

"Will be believe you if you say you don't know where I am? Would he tell Omega if you swore a partner to secrecy?" Delta counters. In essence the answer is 'how much do you trust him'?

'With my life,' he says honestly. 'God knows, he's saved it a couple of times.' He has to think though. 'He knows Omega better than you, and family bonds mean a lot to him, so he might tell him I know where you are if Omega asks. Might be better for me to lie.'

[protective_logic]

"I trust you in whatever you think is best then," Delta answers simply. If he can't trust York, who can he trust?

[depthlesslock]

'And I'll try and base that on what would be best for you,' he says. After all, that's what he wants for Delta. It's what the man deserves.

[protective_logic]

"I thank you for that," Delta admits shyly. "I don't... there are going to be complications, knowing Omega. I thank you for caring about those."

[depthlesslock]

'Of course,' he says, smiling gently and hopefully reassuringly. 'These things are never easy, but I'll do my best to help sort it out.'

"Is your best really good?" Delta asks, because he honestly wants to know.
