LOG: In Need of Assistance

York would be lying if he said he wasn't surprised that Delta had called him so soon to arrange to meet up again. That's three times in the last two weeks the man has called for company despite his insistence that he's a busy guy. Not that York's complaining, he enjoys Delta's company more each time they see each other, but he is surprised.

He's on time. Well, Delta seems to be making the effort, the least he can do is return the favor. Once he's inside, he removes his helmet and looks around. Common Ground is a good place, he's enjoyed it's coffee and food a fair few times, and of course it has the delicious, rich scent that comes with any good coffee shop.

Spotting Delta, he weaves through the tables towards him and sits down in the chair on the other side of the table, smiling. 'Hey there.'

'Of course. I want you to feel as safe as possible.' This is huge for Delta, the least he can do is try and make it easier.

"Okay then," Delta says softly. "You can take them."

'Alright.' He'll need to grab a duffle, the last thing they need is for people to see him leaving the house with a bunch of guns in his arms.

"I'd... rather not see where you have them," Delta informs him quietly. "I don't like the idea of guns."

[depthlesslock]

'That's fine. Do you want to get yourself settled while I clear the other rooms?' he offers.

[protective_logic]

"Please," Delta smiles. "This is the bedroom then?"

[depthlesslock]

'Yep. So feel free to make yourself at home here. Unless you want me to get any weapons out of it first?'

[protective_logic]

"So long as they aren't in the dresser drawers or hanging in the closet, I should be okay..."

And then...

"They aren't... right?"

[depthlesslock]

He has to think for a second, mentally double checking where the ones in this room are. 'No, they're not. You're good.'

[protective_logic]

"Good," Delta smiles. And then, after a moment of hesitation, he leans in to kiss York's cheek before he moves to head downstairs to grab his duffel.

York is left standing in the middle of the room, staring after him. Did he just...? The tingling on his cheek confirms that yes, Delta did just kiss him. Wow. As he quickly gathers the guns from their various hiding places, he has a wide smile on his face.

Delta takes his time coming back upstairs. He figures York will take the time to get the guns or whatever out of the room. Once he feels like there has been enough time he comes back upstairs with his bag, his blush quelled.

He's moved the guns to the spare room, and grabbed the ones in the bathroom while he was at it. He'll put them all in a bag for when he leaves, this is just to get them out of the way for now. At the sight of Delta, he smiles again. Not that he's barely stopped smiling the whole time.

Well, that smile has him blushing again. He feels so self conscious about what he's done, but... it's what a boyfriend would do in his place, right? He's just doing what he should do.

"The bedroom clear then?"

'All clear,' he confirms, taking a moment to appreciate the shade of red Delta has turned. 'All yours.'

[protective_logic]

"All yours," Delta corrects, but he does enter and opens a drawer to deposit his clothes into. All of his clothes into. One drawer. His clothes fit in one drawer.

[depthlesslock]

'I'm sharing,' he says, leaning against the wall while Delta unpacks. 'And until further notice it shall be treated as yours.'

Delta's staring into the drawer he's just emptied his clothes into. 'Are you alright? Did you forget to bring something important?'

[protective_logic]

"No," Delta answers. "This is everything. This is literally everything."

It's all he owns except for a few books. Oh, and the few things left in his bag that include shoes, books, and toiletries he thought the family could spare.

Oh. It... really isn't very much.

He pushes off the wall and steps across the room to him. 'At least it's easy to move around?' He has literally no idea what to say to this.

That's not comforting. But Delta lets that go. He doesn't look to York, just takes his other pair of shoes out and sets them aside. "Thank you for the space."

With that he scoops up the toiletries. "Where was the bathroom again?"

'Just across the hall,' he says, repressing a sigh. He knew Delta's family was not the most financially stable, but this is one of the few solid indicators, along with Delta's helmet, that he's seen that really show just how bad it is.

Which makes him self conscious. Gamma had needed new clothes for school, and so Delta had put off a trip to the thrift store for himself so that Gamma could get some things.

Feeling bad about the little display of his family's poverty, Delta clutches his bag of toiletries to his chest and slips past York to go to the bathroom to put his things away. A toothbrush, a cheap plastic hairbrush he'd bought at the store today, and a small travel tube of toothpaste. Disposable razors and shaving cream would have to wait.

York doesn't follow him, sensing Delta would rather he didn't. 'You're welcome to anything you find in there,' he says. 'I mean, I doubt you use hair gel much, but shampoo, soap and all the stuff you can help yourself to. That goes for the whole house.'

Could he start a pot for the Ais? Find some way to get them money. It seems every time he meets Delta, it's made even clearer how bad their situation is.

That's a relief, and Delta allows himself a small sigh because of how thankful it is. Considering most of his money, once he gets a job, will be going to the family, things like real shampoo were going to be skipped out on if he could manage it.

"Thank you," he calls back as he tries to calm himself.

'Anything you need that you didn't bring or I don't have?' he asks, moving to lean against the bedroom door-frame and look into the slice of bathroom he can see from this angle.
