LOG: In Need of Assistance

York would be lying if he said he wasn't surprised that Delta had called him so soon to arrange to meet up again. That's three times in the last two weeks the man has called for company despite his insistence that he's a busy guy. Not that York's complaining, he enjoys Delta's company more each time they see each other, but he is surprised.

He's on time. Well, Delta seems to be making the effort, the least he can do is return the favor. Once he's inside, he removes his helmet and looks around. Common Ground is a good place, he's enjoyed it's coffee and food a fair few times, and of course it has the delicious, rich scent that comes with any good coffee shop.

Spotting Delta, he weaves through the tables towards him and sits down in the chair on the other side of the table, smiling. 'Hey there.'

'Just being honest,' he says, returning the squeeze. 'Shall I show you upstairs?'

"Of course," Delta smiles. "That is part of the four, isn't it?"

[depthlesslock]

'The four?' he repeats in confusion as he leads him out into the hall and up the stairs.

[protective_logic]

"Tour," Delta sighs. "Sorry. Still tired."

[depthlesslock]

'I'm not surprised,' he says as he pushes the door to the bedroom open. 'At least you'll have somewhere more comfy than the couch the sleep this time.'

[protective_logic]

"Well, I suppose I'll make use of the bed later," Delta chuckles, shaking his head.

[depthlesslock]

'Sleep is pretty essential.' He grins. 'Anyway, just across the hall is the bathroom and there's a spare bedroom at the end of the hall which just has random shit in there.'

[protective_logic]

"I won't bother it," Delta protests, because York's random stuff could be dangerous, he now knows."

[depthlesslock]

'Thanks. Also, I should warn you...' He rubs the back of his neck. 'There's... at least one weapon in every room. If you find any... just leave them alone.'

[protective_logic]

He freezes, even though it makes sense. He's scared by the prospect of that. Guns. It would be guns. He hates the idea of guns.

Delta pulls his hand away from York's and just wraps his arms around himself.

Fuck. Great job, York, you freaked him out again. That makes what? Three or four times today? Good going.

'Delta...' What is he even supposed to say. '...I can take them out?'

"They're supposed to be here," Delta points out.

He, of course, is not. But going is not something that will be allowed, so he isn't even going to mention it.

'Yeah, but I'm not going to be using this place as a safehouse while you're here,' he points out. 'I can just take them with me when I go.'

[protective_logic]

I'm already putting you out of your place, Delta thinks. But he doesn't say it. There are too many battles to fight. This won't be one of them.

"Is this place actually safe? No one is going to try and break in and rob it?"

[depthlesslock]

'They might try, but a burglar might try and rob any house. Difference with this one is that they won't get in.' He made the security system himself and it's as good as the one at the base. Which he also helped upgrade.

[protective_logic]

"You're sure?" Delta asks nervously. Because he's scared. Everything is wrong.

[depthlesslock]

'Of course. I want you to feel as safe as possible.' This is huge for Delta, the least he can do is try and make it easier.

[protective_logic]

"Okay then," Delta says softly. "You can take them."

[depthlesslock]

'Alright.' He'll need to grab a duffle, the last thing they need is for people to see him leaving the house with a bunch of guns in his arms.

[protective_logic]

"I'd... rather not see where you have them," Delta informs him quietly. "I don't like the idea of guns."

[depthlesslock]

'That's fine. Do you want to get yourself settled while I clear the other rooms?' he offers.

[protective_logic]

"Please," Delta smiles. "This is the bedroom then?"

[depthlesslock]

'Yep. So feel free to make yourself at home here. Unless you want me to get any weapons out of it first?'

[protective_logic]

"So long as they aren't in the dresser drawers or hanging in the closet, I should be okay..."

And then...

"They aren't... right?"

He has to think for a second, mentally double checking where the ones in this room are. 'No, they're not. You're good.'
